Penfield Township
Penfield Township was established in 1820 and named in honor of Peter Penfield, an early settler. Peter Penfield and Calvin Spencer came from eastern New York in the fall of 1818in the following year he returned with his son Alanson. Penfield became a Lorain County Township in 1825.
