The duck pond has two large ponds and attracts a variety of aquatic wildlife and is a favorite of fishermen (Catch-and-Release only and an Ohio fishing license required.) The area also includes a reservable picnic shelter and small playground, and a trailhead that leads to the other parts of the reservation.

On the north side of the Duck Pond is a trail that goes to a pond and to another area of what I would classify as a wetland. There is also the Elyria Carlisle Reservation Ball Fields. The Lorain County Metro Parks is the owner of this property and I have included images taken there. In the 90's I shot mostly B&W film and created hand tinted photographs, of birds and bugs in flight (the birds were shown at the Carlisle Visitor Center). This area was  one my favorite spots to photograph and have included one image here and may post B&W here also in time.
